American Sign Language for Babies

Help your baby express their needs, thoughts, and feelings before they can speak. In this class, parents will learn how to sign with and for their babies. Handouts will be provided. Class ends with an instructional read-through of the classic children's book, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" While having the book is not necessary for class, parents may purchase a book on the day of class for $5.00. 

Class is led by Shannon Meske, who has a unique blend of expertise in language and early childhood education. Shannon has a degree in Deaf Studies with a focus on American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation. For the past 19 years, she has focused on creating engaging, developmentally enriching classes for babies and children. She also works as an ASL interpreter and is dedicated to promoting inclusive communication, developmental growth, and meaningful family connections. 

Class is taught in English using American Sign Language modeling. Class is open to all expectant and new parents with babies up to 6 months old (or pre-crawling).
